Carlmont's 8th Grade Transition Team will host a variety of events during the upcoming school year for 8th graders and their parents or guardians.
It is not necessary to attend all these events. We encourage you to find the ones that best fit your family’s needs.
Many families may choose to only go to the new school year orientations (one for parents and one for incoming freshmen, held in August). These sessions offer everything you and your students need to get off to a great start at Carlmont!
Campus Tours for 8th Graders, led by Carlmont students: October 29, March 24 and April 12. (Note: October tour is limited to 8th graders who are considering other high schools.) More details and registration links here.
Virtual Chat with a Carlmont Student - For 8th graders who have specific questions, we offer a one-on-one 20 minute Zoom chat this fall or winter with a Carlmont student. Register by November 15th. More details and registration link here.
Parent & Student Forums (virtual this year) for 8th graders and parents, featuring Principal Crame, teachers, and current students, with Q&A time: January 25th or February 9th (choose one). Registration opens November 15th; click here for more information.
Parent Information Night featuring Principal Crame, Carlmont teachers and counselors, and student ambassadors. This event is catered to parents that have enrolled their student for Carlmont. This year's date is March 9, 2022. No registration required. Click here for more information.
Additional Events offered for all Incoming Freshman and their Parents
Carlmont Freshman Parent Orientation Night will be held in August. This event takes place every year on Thursday evening before school starts. This event will cover everything you need to know about getting your freshman off to a good start at Carlmont.
All enrolled 9th grade students are asked to attend a Freshman Orientation the day before school starts. This half day event starts at 8am and ends midday with a barbeque lunch hosted by our PTSA. At orientation, all freshmen will receive their schedules, walk through their classes on campus, and briefly meet all their teachers. This event is hosted by our Associated Student Body (student government) and will allow all incoming freshmen the chance to get to know the school and other students just before their first day of school.
In addition to these events, opportunities are available to attend science lectures, sporting events, music, drama, choral and dance performances all throughout the year. Visit the calendar on the Carlmont website for the most up-to-date information.
