Campus Visits & Tours

Our shadowing program offers students an opportunity to experience a half day on campus while shadowing a Carlmont freshman. These one-to-one sessions are typically held from late September through January and are intended only for middle school students that are considering other high school options.
The intent of individual shadowing is for incoming students to get a feel for the culture and spirit at Carlmont. Shadow students will visit a few morning classes with their 9th grade mentor, but we cannot guarantee specific classes, as each 8th grader will be assigned to one of many 9th grade students available. Our team will do our best to match up students with similar interests.
During 2021-2022, we were unable to offer the individual in-person shadow sessions due to Covid restrictions. Virtual one-on-one sessions with a Carlmont student were available.
We hope to return to in-person shadowing this year. This page will be updated as soon as we have more information about what shadowing opportunities we can offer for the 2022-2023 school year.
Campus Tours host larger groups of 8th grade students and parents on campus. This is an opportunity to walk the campus after school with Carlmont Student Ambassadors leading tours and discussions.
FALL TOURS - If your 8th grader is considering other high schools in addition to Carlmont then we welcome you to attend a tour in the Fall. Families will get an up-close look at campus and hear about student life from various students and staff. We will offer 2 or 3 tour dates in September, October, or November, all taking place on a weekday at or around 4pm. Check back here for sign-ups at a later date. Walking time on campus is no more than one hour.
SPRING TOURS - If your 8th grader is intending to enroll at Carlmont, or has already enrolled, they are welcome to attend a spring tour to get a sneak peek at campus. These tours are for 8th graders only, providing the same information and experience as offered in the Fall. Two dates are offered each Spring, each taking place on a weekday at or around 4pm. Walking time on campus is no more than one hour. Please also note that all incoming freshmen will tour the campus at Freshmen Orientation the day before school starts.
Check back here after school starts in the Fall for tour dates and registration.
In addition to these events, opportunities are available to visit campus through science lectures, sporting events, music, drama, choral and dance performances all throughout the year. Visit the calendar on the Carlmont website for the most up-to-date information.
