Cleaning and caring for SUHSD technology

(avoid touching the screen or spraying chemicals on them)

  • Greatest concerns:
  • Devices can be linked to the spread of disease as they are high-touch surfaces.
  • Screens are susceptible to malfunction if they are not cared for properly. (avoid touching the screen or spraying chemicals on them)

**Your Chromebook or hotspot has been issued to you by SUHSD and is the property of SUHSD. While the device is in your possession, you are responsible for maintaining and caring for the device so it can be returned in working order.**

  • Student Responsibilities:
  • Student Chromebooks
  • Turn off the device
  • Clean the student devices with a mild disinfectant (AVOID WIPING THE SCREEN)
  • Wipe down top and bottom surface on Chromebook
  • Wipe down keyboard area and mouse pad
  • Wipe down on and off switch area
  • Wipe down power cables
  • Student Hotspots
  • Turn off the device
  • Clean the student devices with a mild disinfectant (GENTLY WIPE THE SCREEN)
  • Wipe down power cables
  • Things to consider:
  • Possible contamination on screens:
  • Sneezing or coughing towards a screen (be mindful to cover your face with a mask or arm so you do not contaminate the screen
  • Touching the screen (be mindful to use your keyboard as your default to navigate on the computer)
  • If you need to clean a screen:
  • Use a clean rag that has been lightly sprayed with a cleaning chemical
  • Wipe gently
